Free Vaccines and Community Resources at Futsol Health Fair This Saturday

What: Immunize Nevada, in partnership with Amerigroup and Walgreens, will offer free flu vaccines for anyone 7 years and older as part of the Futsol Community Health Fair. No ID or proof of insurance is required to receive a vaccine, however those with insurance are asked to bring their insurance or Medicare cards. Additional community organizations and non-profits will be on-hand with giveaways, free resources and information. There will also be free food and entertainment.

Why:  Anyone can get the flu, but some people are at greater risk for serious flu-related complications, like pneumonia, which can lead to hospitalization and even death. For those at   greater risk of complications, getting the flu vaccine is especially important. It’s also important to get the vaccine if you care for anyone in one or more of the following high risk groups, or for babies younger than 6 months because they are too young to get the vaccine. Those at risk include:
• Children younger than 5 years old, but especially children younger than 2 years old .
• Pregnant women.
• People with certain medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, or heart and lung disease.
• People 65 years and older.

When:  Saturday, September 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where:  Miguel Rivera Park, 3925 Neil Road, Reno
