“Back to School” Family Health Festival provides free services to community members

RENO, Nev. – July 18, 2016 – In collaboration with local partners, Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities (TMHC) is hosting a Back to School Family Health Festival on Wednesday, July 27 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event, which brings free and low-cost services to kids, students, adults and seniors (while supplies last), will take place at Miguel Ribera Park (3295 Neil Road), at the west parking lot and the large gym.

Services provided include: Food Bank mobile pantry; food stamps/SNAP registration; health screenings & immunizations; Head Start/affordable daycare registration; job application & resume help; family planning; HIV & Hepatitis C testing; BMI & diabetes testing, adult education enrollment and more.

The Family Health Festival is part of TMHC’s continued efforts to work with local organizations to improve community health by focusing on food access, employment, affordable housing, and healthcare access and education.
