NILE Webinar - The Vaccines for Children Program: The What, Who, and How in Nevada

Join Immunize Nevada for a one-hour course highlighting the Vaccines For Children (VFC) program. The January NILE webinar offers providers the answers to questions about the how the VFC program works, how to become a VFC provider and the best ways to utilize VFC in your office. 


Course objectives include:
1. Understand what the Vaccines for Children Program is and what it provides
2. Know how to enroll in the program and who are the important Nevada State Immunization Program contacts
3. Understand the monthly reporting requirements
4. Know how to properly store and handle vaccines
5. Know where to find relevant vaccine information

Speaker:
Karissa Loper, MCH
received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Nevada with an emphasis in healthcare administration, program planning and policy development. Karissa now works for the Nevada State Immunization Program as the Vaccines for Children Program provider recruiter. As the state’s VFC provider recruiter, Karissa locates medical providers throughout Nevada who are not enrolled in the VFC Program and send recruitment materials as well as immunization coverage statistics for their area of Nevada. In addition, Karissa completes VFC initial enrollment and new staff orientations as requested by provider’s offices. Prior to graduating from the University of Nevada, Karissa was the graduate research assistant for Dr. Daniel Cook at the University of Nevada and also worked as the administrative assistant for the Director of the Division of Medical Humanities and Ethics at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
